First Post

I feel as though I should so something or say something really exciting because this is my first blog post, but I honestly don't know what to say, so I shall ramble. I know for a fact that the previous sentence is properly constructed, but it still feels like a run-on. Anyway I will be talking about my view on Harry Potter. I am doing this mainly because it is a really big deal to a lot of people, and I think they would want to know this about me before they know anything else about me.

I do not like Harry Potter. *le gasp* Before you ask, yes I have tried to read the books. Multiple times. The story is boring, and Harry is just a little bitch. But I wouldn't even be posting this if the series wasn't the biggest series ever. The fandom is the biggest turnoff. Don't get me wrong, I am a part of many fandoms, but Harry Potter is just... pushy/annoying. I mean that in no offensive way at all. It is a general observation of the fandom.

  1. Harry is a little bitch. I completely see where you're coming from. But there are several Harry Potter parody videos on YouTube that are hilarious and I appreciate it just for those.

  2. I must admit that I do enjoy the parodies such as this one from one from The Soup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTs2FxRWyJk

  3. I like Harry Potter, but Harry is a bit of a bitch. Also, I hate the over the top fans who are like "*gasp* you don't like Harry Potter??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! *bitch slap and walk away* loser." Those people just piss me off. Not everybody has to share your interests. Get over yourself.
It is my understanding though, that you like the movies?
PS. *gasp* OMGOMGOMG NED COMMENTED ON YOUR BLOG *fangirl moment*
PPS. I deleted the previous comment because there was a typo and it bothered me. That is all.

  4. I am quite excited that he did. I tried not to show it because I am trying to retain some of my dignity on my blog. I indeed do enjoy the Harry Potter movies. I have a fangirl?!? This excites me. ^_^

    Dignity, not happening over here.
I wonder if he'll read these?
I love the movies. They're awesome.
Well, I'm less of a fan girl and more of a supportive wife ;)

  6. :) I am glad to be following your blog, now! This is Micaela, by the way.

Well, I certainly agree with you on the "Fandom Syndrome." I hate...HATE it when people decide not to be friends with someone over a fictional thing. I am a fan of many things, but I don't shove it down other people's throats. I accept them for liking it. The only difference between them and the people who do like it is a shift in the conversation, and that's no big deal, at all! People are free to have their own opinions. I don't quite like Harry Potter either, and I've gotten dirty looks from people. Even the little comments like "wow you do *insert action*..must be because you don't like Harry Potter or *other frantic fandom*" I'll watch the movies, but I shall not...ever....read the books. *end mild rant*

    HI!!!!!!

  8. I think that people who shove anything down your throat (unless it's like, chocolate cake or something... well maybe) are super annoying. I hate it when people try to tell me what I should like/dislike, do/not do, *believe*, all of that stuff.

  9. Forcing people to do something they don't want is not only mean it's also wrong.
